Horticulture Australia research review
This project is reviewing current and previous Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) supported, Voluntary Contributions and levy funded projects conducted under the auspices of (HAL). A critical evaluation of the communication and extension of the results from each project will then identify and prioritise areas which could provide benefits if better (or differently) extended.
The project is expected to produce the following outputs:
A list of 271 projects conducted through Horticulture Australia under the turf industry program since 1990 has been sorted and characterised according to a set of assessment criteria developed by the project. These criteria are based closely on the investment priorities listed in the industry strategic plan and grouped according to current relevance and industry impact. The shortlist of 95 projects is currently being reviewed and prioritised based on the potential future impact that could be expected by further investment.
This work will assist the industry and HAL to prioritise their future extension effort and ensure that any benefits that could be achieved from previous research investment is realised for levy payers.
The project is expected to produce the following outputs:
- A review of current and previous VC and levy funded HAL research undertaken in the Australia Turf industry (final report);
- A summary of finding (relevant extension outcomes) ready for incorporation in the industry Communications Plan;
- Media and newsletter article; and
- A presentation at the industry conference (if appropriate).
